i had someone give me a 2002 explorer recently ... i was told that the transmission might be out, but that they thought it the transfer case... after putting in a new battery, the car is now running, && is driveable.. but the gas pedal is not going down easily, & it feels like im in a very low gear... i have switched gears manually, & it doesnt help... i was told that the transmission WAS shifting gears, but its like the gears are stuck .. the 4X4 drive buttons do not work, or light up. I have several questions that I hope you can answer!
1st Q, where is the transmission stick?? So, I can check & see if it needs fluid.
2nd Q, how do I unhook the transfer case? If I un-hook the drive-line /cable will it take the 4x4 drive out???
3rd Q, what kind of transfer case do I have?? its a 4.0L, && can u tell me where to find a diagram/pic of my transfer case??
thank you for you for your time!!
