I need to replace a power window regulator in a 2002 for Explorer and I was trying to figure out if this is a job I could tackle myself and if so how to do it.

Hi, I just worked on mine and fixed the original one. When I took it out I determined that a buildup of gease and corrosion had been my problem. I read all sorts of forums and couldn't find the answer, so I took a chance and devised a way that it seemed would be safe to remove it without injury. If you want how I did it--without pics, I will write it up if you haven't already paid, just let me know. BTW, it caused damage to the motor, which I am going to see if I can find the parts to fix it tomorrow-- (found that info on another forum.)

oh, the subject didn't show, mine was a scissor type, if yours isn't I got instructions from someone and have a url to a site that has pictures on the other type. BTW, Just thought I'd let u know, I was able to fix the motor also (other forums had details on that), so since I was able to fix the old regulator and motor I am out about 4 bucks and have a working window!
