My 2001 ford explorer sport wil not idle. It just started and I can drive it as long as I keep my foot on the gas. What could this be caused from?

I am having the same situation with my 01 explorer sport as well. It shuts off while driving or it takes several times to start. The idle does not idle.

Barney- I used gas treatment and the Highest octane fuel (91) and my Sport has not had any more idling problems. Hope this helps you out.
