Abs light

Brakes problem
2000 Ford Explorer 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 101000 miles

I think that our ABS needs to be replaced entirely, the ABS light is on and when I try to hit the breaks hard the car slides and the brakes vibrate. My husband took out the microchip and now the brakes work better but I still cannot go fast in the car without risking the brakes. Winter is coming soon and I want to get this fixed. Any ideas on the cost?

that depends on whats wrong with it, could be a simple wiring harness issue, bad wheel speed sensors, or a bad abs module. expect a minimum of 200 dollars
