1999 Ford Explorer runs bad

the check engine light come on. It starts just fine but after it idles it will die. If you give it gas it dies out. not all the time, you can put it in low 1 and it most the time will go if you dont step on the gas to hard. On the road you can go good as long as you dont gun it but your in trouble slowing down. changed fuel filter, it was a mess but didnt help. It has good exhust coming out. sometimes it idles good til you take off. you can step on it while your in park and doesnt cut out til you go in drive[/quo


If air filter was that bad what about the rest of the tune up
fuel filter and fuel pressure
check engine light
codes will help you determine the trouble area
get it scanned
