REAR CRANK SHAFT SEAL REPLACEMENT COSTS

1998 Ford Explorer

Transmission problem
1998 Ford Explorer V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 178000 miles

Oil is leaking slowly from the main seal for the
crank shaft at the front of the car under the
engine. I was told that the rear crank shaft seal
needs to be replaced and that it would probably
take about 5 hours labor at $90 an hour. That
the seal was not expensive but the labor was the
main part of the cost for repair. Sound right to you?
