Transmission problem
1996 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 320000 miles

I recently bought a 1996 explorer and while driving the cars transmission gave up on me..stopped the car and kept changing the gears but nothing seemed to be working. Then I switched off the car and when I tried starting it back it wouldnt even do that.

I then saw that the flywheel has gone "free"..just spinning. A few people from the forum told me its the flywheel as the original design of it wasnt good..so then later ford had re-designed it.

Now Id like to know how to take off everything..the tranny..and what tools I will need etc as the bolt on the top of the tranny is kind of hard to reach at.
