1996 Ford Explorer clunking noise

Noises problem
1996 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 103,00 miles

i replaced the driveshaft and yoke, and i changed the tranny fluid and screen,and the rear end oil. the problem is when i start off driving from first to second it clunks and after that it shifts fine but when i go to stop right before it does it clunks again. also the rear end does have so what play in it. is it the rear end?

Before I say it's te differential, are you sure the trans mount and motor mounts are good? Also, are the shackles ( where the leaf spring bolts to the frame) in good shape. They all rust and break leaving the axle only partially attached to the frame.
