1995 Ford Explorer 2wd and 4 wd light comes on

1995 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 137500 miles
my Explorer the 2wd and 4 wd light comes on every 2 to 3 min and it will blink 6 times and it goes threw the cycle again. If you try to put it if 4 wheel drive it dont go into the gear. There is no sound and fealing. It just drive like always.
