My truck makes a knocking sound when I make a turn either left or right. It last for about 10 secs and then stops. Its not constant but it worries me. I was told I may need cv boots replaced.

first you should check and change your ball joints, if its a clunking grinding noise and the car jumps its definetely the ball joints, try greasing the ball joints and cv boots., if that doesnt remedy check for torn cv boots or worn parts, replace as neccessary.
