just drove in from a cross country trip, last place i stopped for gas, engine chugged for a second when starting, stopped it and restarted, ran fine, made it home. next morning went to start it it wouldnt run, engine would crank without effort, but just would not turn over. air flow is unobstructed al the way to the throttle body, fuel system is running up to the engine side of the fuel filter, farthest i could test that i know how to, only thing i can think of is the electrical, but i dont know how to test the plugs or the distribution block. any info would be appreciated, thanks for the time

With me you are out of luck if you have fuel injection but I can maybe help. My uncle told me you just need 3 things for a vehicle to run (I think we were working on a "Whippet") ad that is still true today. You need fuel, air and spark. If you think you have the first 2 taken care of, lets try #3.

It is best to do this with insulated pliers or a plug wire tool (or you find out if you have spark by screaming and kicking your car when you get shocked ).

Take off the coil wire at the distribuator and hold it a little bit away from the hole where it goes into the distributor. Have someone turn over the car and look for a spark jumping from the wire to the cap.

The to check the otherside of the distributor you need to do the same at the spark plug. Remove the wire at the plug and check for spark. You may have to put a small metal bolt or the like into the end of the wire if the boot covering the plug is too long. You can check this at any grounding metal on the car.

Good luck...Jeff
