I just bought a 93 explorer with 123k miles on it, 5speed , v6. the guy said id need to put two new oxygen sensors in it. However the check engine light has not come on and my exhaust appears normal and my idle times are not fast. They are actually the opposite. When i first turn on my car if its cold, not been started in a hour or more, if i dont immediately give it gas and keep the rpms up above 2,000 for about 30-35 seconds the engine just stalls out. also i am experiencing a frequent loss of power, especially going up hills or in stop and go driving around town. On the interstate i will be cruising at 65 mph and all of the sudden i start slowing down and my accelerator seems to be doing absolutely nothing, so i throw it into 3rd gear to boost my rpms back up and eventually the accelerator starts working properly agian. ill try replacing the o2 sensors later but i would assume the check engine light would come on if it were them. any suggestions? this problem has started making it very difficult driving around town.
