i have a 1993 ford explorer 4x4 i took it to get new tires on it and the mechanic said the inner and outer bearings are bad are they hard to replace?

Hi:
Either front or rear are difficult. This doesn't have bearings like the older style vehicles. The front has hub bearings, and the rear has axle bearings. I recommend if you do it, get yourself a good manual that provides step by step directions and pictures to help identify parts.
