1991 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

i have really strong raw fuel odors coming from my truck when I start it up until I shut it off. I was wanting to know what that might be. I was thinking that I might be the charcoal canister but i'm not sure. My mpg is really low and there isnt any actual fuel leaking out it's just vapors. It's has a new air filter and I don't think that my fuel injectors are dirty.

Could be charcoal canister, with it running go under the vehicle and smell and try to pinpoint where its coming from, tank, fuel lines, fuel rail, charcoal canister.

It may not leak untill vehicle is running and theres pressure on the system causing the fuel to leak.

Exhaust smell excessivly rich?
