$$ ? keyless entry

1999 Ford Expedition 73,782 miles.

The keypad on the outside of the drivers door is shot. The combination is mostly 3's and that 3 key just doesn't work anymore. I got estimates on the phone from $90 to $175 for parts and .5 hours labor up to 2.5 hour.

I took it to the dealership that gave me the lowest estimate on the phone. They of course couldn't duplicate the problem so I told them just to replace the keypad since I had spent 20 minutes trying to open it the day before. Then they came up with $175 plus 2.5 hours labor.

Seems like a wide range to me. Is this something that must be done at a dealership and what should the part cost and how much labor should it take?
