Ford Escort Repair Question

Noise
I have a 1997 Ford Escort it has a second motor and working on 110000 miles. I stopped at a stop sign a while ago and it made a noise just like a wrench or something fell off under the hood. I stopped and looked nothing under it or fell off. Can you give me an idea as to what it was. It didn't do it anymore.

1997 Ford Escort 110000 miles 4 cylinders I tried to do this on another site and the answer was totally irrelevant but I had paid for it and they wouldn't make it good I will donate if you answer my question.
