1999 Ford Escort engine removal
Engine Performance problem
1999 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 130K miles
I am removing a 2.0 SOHC engine. Can this be done without also removing the auto trans axile? If not how do I access the flywheel to disconnect the trans axile? Thanks for the help.

Hello,
There should be an Inspection Plate at the front bottom of the tranny. Remove it, then you should be able to get to the Bolts to the Torq Converter. You will need to turn the Flywheel in order to get to each Bolt.
If there is no inspection plate then you will have to go through the Starter Hole.
