1997 excort ran no coolant is head gasket blown or is head c
I have a 97 Escort lx with the 2.0 It was ran with no coolant and now after pulling the head there was coolant in all 4 cyls. I noticed that the head gasket material was silvery and mushy. Is this a blown head gasket or is the head cracked. I took the head out and checked for parrerllism and it was fine????

Did you have the head magnafluxed to check for cracks?? It is a must when you blow a head gasket. Make sure you replace the gasket with a pro set NOT from the Zone. Good luck
