1998 Ford E-Series Van how to get off cable

1998 Ford E-Series Van Two Wheel Drive 182000 miles
I can not get off the adjusting cable and parking brake lever frrom the pin they are on. The one top center that the brake pads rest against. How does the end come off so that the cable etc can slide off?
