TWO TRIPS TO MECHANIC FOR A/C REPAIR

1994 Ford E-Series Van

Air Conditioning problem
1994 Ford E-Series Van 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 135000 miles

We picked up the van after the repairs had been " completed". On our way home, we noticed the power steering was stiff and unresponsive. Upon our arrival at home, we discovered there wasn't a drop of power steering fluid in the reservoir. That was a quick and easy fix. Unfortunately, we took the van to work the next morning and also discovered the A/C still doesn't work and now. Neither does the radio. The first attempt to repair the A/C cost us around $600.00. It was an unsuccessful attempt. Same mechanic said we would have to replace the A/C unit. He charged us nearly $1,000.00 for the second trip to his garage. According to the bill, they checked the A/C for leaks and found the compressor to be leaking. They charged us to replace the compressor orifice valve and accumulator. The flushed the system and evacuated and charged the A/C and it supposedly cooled to 42 degrees. One of our on-going problems leading us to take it in to him in the first place to check on the unit cutting off from time to time. Then it would start working full force. The air was quickly cooled once it did come on. They, again, supposed fixed this problem by replacing the computer.

So here we sit, nearly $1,600.00 later. STILL no working A/C, refilled our own power steering fluid, and now. The radio isn't working either. Any input someone could provide us would be deeply, deeply appreciated! Thank you so much!
