1994 Ford E-Series Van V8
Last year the starter began using too much power to start then froze up. I put a used one in and all was fine. Then yesterday morning it starts fine. I drove four miles then stopped and went into the store. Fifteen minutes later I tried to start it and nothing happens but one click every turn of the key. I got it started with a jump, but turned over really slow for a jump. On the way home the charge indicator needle was pointing straight down looking like it wasn't charging. When I got home I turned it off then tried to restart it. Nothing but clicks. I noticed however, with the key in the run position the indicator read nothing, it didn't even move. The battery had a full charge because I charged it, then turned the key to run again, the needle didn't move but the headlights were bright, windows went down and up, and fan worked all at the same time. I installed a new starter, but that didn't help. Where do I go from here?
