1971 Ford Custom Stops running
Engine Performance problem
1971 Ford Custom V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 300000 miles
My 1971 Ford Custon Van run fine and smooth, so quiet you can't tell if its still running when you stop. But it runs for a few miles, get hot and quits. Leave it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes and it starts and runs again for a couple of miles. It will keep doing this indefinitely. What is the problem? Someone said the distributor cap might have a hair line crack in it and this would cause the engine to stall. Would this be the problem? Any suggestions on what the problem might be???
