It could be a few things. First, it could be a bad head gasket, but you said you checked that. Also, how bad was the radiator when you flushed it? Could it still be plugged? Finally, are you sure you didn't put the thermostat in upside down?

If you are sure the head gaskets are good, the only other thing I can think of that would cause this problem is if the timing was out. Is the engine running good?

Sorry to jump in, but are you sure the vehicle is actually overheating, or is the gauge or light telling you it is hot? I would have a scan tool put on it and see what the ECT is reading. It may just be a bad sensor. Just a thought.

It is all controled by the PCM. You can no longer adjust timing. Just to add to the other person's comment, has the coolant ever boiled over?
