I have a 99 ford contour 2.0 the other day when I try to start it it would die but it always start back up but I had to keep hitting the gas to keep it running.I had it looked at no engine light is on and the censors were checked they are ok fuel pump good. So put some gas treatment in the car now it stays running but sounds awful and I can smell gas fumes real bad. Any help

Ok they found out I had a vacume hose gone so they replace that. Now its running again. But before he found the hose he changed plugs and cleaned my catalac converter out but now when I hit the gas hit hessitates for a few minutes and then take off. What could be wrong now?

It could be your mass air flow sensor or it could be your fuel filter is in bad shape or air filter
