99 Ford Contour, 4-cylinder, 80,000 miles

My 99 Contours' transmission went out, I'm sure of that,
What my question is, is this: what would be the average repair cost of this, I know it varies alot: would I need a new exaust system because of a bad transmission? Would it cause a problem with my cams? And as well as this would I need any other parts besides a new transmission.I feel like I'm getting shafted but don't know of couse.2000$ in repairs and there are mounting problems.

That is a very good price or u can take a extra thousand and buy a car they is more reliable like a toyota camary a way better car just to prove my point go to toyota on here and see who has more promblems with thier cars ford contour and then toyota camary just look at all the promblems at the ford contour has
