1996 Ford Contour Trunk condensation/ rear view defrost - H

I have noticed since this winter is alot colder and weter that I have alot of condensation in my trunk. How do I fix this problem.
My rear defrost wont work, the light comes on but no clearing of the window.
Please help me!
