Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Ford Bronco V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I replaced the Harmonic Balancer because it was clacking. The washer is not the original washer, I do not even think that it was for this specific application. Put on the Harmonic balancer started the truck everything sounded good. Shut off the truck later turned it on and got the clacking again.

I am wondering if having the wrong hardware can also cause this problem.? When the engine was rebuilt the crank shaft was ground down, can this also be an issue. The clancking happens only at Idle.

the clacking may not be coming from teh harmonic balancer. The washer may be an isssue but i dont' think so. it could be the alternator pulley is loose or the water pump pulley may be loose. Have a pro check this out as it's very hard to diagnose noise issues on the computer here.
