1988 Ford Bronco frequent vapor locks even on short drives
Engine Mechanical problem
1988 Ford Bronco 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 130,00 miles
My Bronco II has what I would call a vapor lock when ambient temperature is above 75 degrees. The engine may stall even after a short drive -- usually will restart after a 15-20 wait but last time it happened did not restart after a 30-minute wait -- had the vehicle towed to a mechanic who was able to start the vehicle after the engine had cooled -- he road-tested it and could find no problem. Another Bronco II owner said his vehicle was prone to vapor locks when the gas tank was half (or lower) full -- my vehicle had almost a full tank when the last stall occurred.
