I have a 1988 Ford Bronco 2. the rear drum will not come off. according to the repair manual it should slip right off. How do I get it to come off? Fluid is leaking from inside and I have no brake pressure. I can fix it if I can just get the cover off. thanks for your time.

chances are there is a ridge worn in the drum which leaves a lip around the outer edge stopping you from removing it. What you need to do is adjust the brakes shoes down. On the backing plate, you will find a oval shaped rubber plug. Remove it and with a flashlight, look in and you will see the self adjuster. Loosten it until the brake shoes are closed as far as they can go. Then the drum should come off for you.

It sounds like you need a wheel cylender replaced. Spray the steel brake hose down in advance with a penetrating oil so it will come off without breaking for you.

Let me know if you have other questions.
