1984 Ford Bronco distributor

I put a electronic ignition distributor in and a four barrel carb in and it has no power and it back fires what could it be

Did you put engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/TDC before you replace the distributor? If not you need to reset the valve and ignition timing

Yes I did im not sure if its the distributor bad its brand new I dont see why it would be bad plus I don't have a coil or dif igniton would that matter I could try re timing it but I think it might be good would the distributor make it do that

Check and test all the following

Oxygen sensor
Catalytic converter
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol:
Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
