1989 Ford Aerostar Engine died
Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Ford Aerostar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles
The other day the van stopped running like it ran out of gas. (it hadn't) I added some gas just in case but it won't start. Now when you try to start it it spins really fast like there is no compression. I think I lost my timing chain. Can I just put a new one on or is it a zero tolerance engine and did I damage the valves etc..?

I don't believe it is a 0 tolerance engine. Chances are if you replace the chain, it should be okay.
