Engine Starts but can't put into gear!

Ok I have a 1995 Volvo 850 Station Wagon Turbo, everything was working fine until this weekend when I started the vehicle and my headlights were off and wouldn't turn on, it was late at night so I just used a different vehicle, on Sunday morning I started the Volvo again and the headlights, windows and most electrical inside went off, I couldn't even put it on gear, I pressed the brake pedal but still could not put it on gear, I turned off the vehicle and I had electrical power inside again, mirrors, windows, radio all worked again, I checked the fuses and every single one is working and is not blown, any ideas what this could be?

If the lights weren't working, that is why you couldn't shift from park. Power to the park lock solenoid comes from the brake light switch. As far as the issues, have you checked the main grounds under the hood? Are the battery terminals clean and tight?
