Engine failure and fail to restart

I was driving my accent yesterday and suddenly the engine shut down.
There was no surging, backfiring or shuddering, It just shut down, as if I had
shut off the ignition. When I got it safely out of traffic, I tried to restart it and it would not do so. In Trying to start it, It turns up pretty fast, like it has no compression and it doesn't "sound" like it usually does when starting normally.
It also does not seem like it's getting any fuel. I have changed the oil periodically and also replaced the plugs once in awhile. Other than that, it has had no work done on it and no parts replaced after 128,000 miles. Any Ideas?

Most likely the timing belt broke. 128,000 miles is way too long to wait to have it replaced. Most manufacturers recommend between 75,000 and 100,000 miles. You didn't say which engine you have so it's impossible to know if it's an interference engine. If it is, the engine will need to be disassembled to replace bent valves. If it's not an interference engine just the belt will need to be replaced. If the water pump is driven by the timing belt a conscientious mechanic will want to replace that too to insure the quality of the repair.

Caradiodoc is probably right about the timing belt being broken. All Hyundai engines are interference so you may be looking at another engine being the easiest way out if it really broke the belt.
