I need to clean engine of oil build up to make possible to see oil leak. It isn't Coolant.

My Choices; Extreme Simple Green?
Meguiars Engine Cleaner?
Detailor's Pro Engine Degreaser?

last question; mechanic replaced Oil Pump drive O-RING to stop leak. Mechanic's reply about current oil drip - allow car a week before oil drips stop & that alot of oil buildup around transmission. If drip not stopped in a week return for inspection & recommendations - What do you think about my situation?

I always used gunk myself then took to a quarter car wash and used that to clean it never had a problem with it. Or a power washer if you have one

I'm don't feel safe using a corrosive fluid around even covered old wiring in my '94 Buick Century 3.1

How about oil drip after replacing Oil pump drive O-Ring. How much time before drip stops?

Gunk is only fuel oil and not a corrosive its not going to kill you lol. If the thing is still dripping it's not fixed.
