Im in need of a new engine and transmission. As it sits now, the motor is a 6.2l non turbo diesel. Its on the verge of blowing up. Before my brother passed away we were discussing putting a 6.9l DURAMAX and Allison combo in. The suspension, body, and interior are all in dirty, but suprisingly great condition. No rust or tears in fabric. How can I achieve this for under 10k?

Actually with a diesel you want torque not hp. If you have a 6.2 already just put in a 6.5 but not a turbo one. It will give you about the same maybe a little more. That will be the easiest and cheapest route for you to go without replacing the truck. Although being a diesel it will still be exspensive.
