1994 Eagle Talon Car won't start

I pulled into Auto Zone, and when I came out, my 1990 Eagle Talon wouldn't even turn over. Auto Zone put their machine on the car. Said the battery was completely bad. Still wouldn't turn over, or even make any noise while trying to turn over. I had it towed home. New alternator, and I went and put on a new starter, still it will not turn over. Clean battery terminals also. Any suggestions? I was wondering also if I should pull the steering colum off and see if the ignition wire has broken or come off. Thank you.
