My car will not go into gear with car on. All I get is grinding when I shift. Apaqrently it is a new performance clutch. Any ideas? Thanks a lot

How does the pedal feel resistence?
Have you checked the master cylinder and the slave for fluid and operation.

I get some resistance feels more like a spring. I dont know where to look for these things. I have knowledge in some areas with mechanics but I have never worked with clutches so I am at a loss. I am looking everywhere for ideas and location of things but I have gotten nowhere. Any help is GREATLY appreciated

If the pedal feels normal put in gear before you start tap the starter does car jump forward? Then the clutch is not disegageing. The master cyl is on the firewall beside brake master. The slave is on the transmission.

If I start it in gear it does not jump. The only way to get going to to start the car in gear and go I cannot shift up or down. I must start car in whichever gear I need to go into. :( And ok thanks which one should I be looking at first? What is the purpose of each one (just trying to understand it)
