My speed sensor went out on my 93 dodge van, I replaced it with the aftermarket sensor at the local parts store, after installing and reconecting to socket I still have check engine light and no speedometer. Do I need to have the light removed by a obd 1 for it to recognize the new sensor?

98 Ram 1500 5.9 Auto, check engine light, ABS, brake warning lights are on AND no speedometer or Odometer. Therefore, no crusie either.

Did a brake job...no change, replaced a solonoid on the top side of transmission, could be removed from under the truck without openning the transmission...no effect.

What else?

Welcome to 2carpros

This is a complicated problem-to begin you need to have the OBD2 system scanned for code/s and comeback with it.

According to Mitchell that code pertains to the cruise control system. It could be several different things. I would go to link at bottom of main forum page to Mitchell-On-Demand and look it up..It is in "Accessories and Equipment" there you will be able to follow the troubleshooting charts and figure this out
