When I bought my car used someone had cut out the brake light switch wires. I went and got the a used switch from a junk yard that has 6 wires but I only see 4 wires that were cut. How do I wire the switch.

Does your vehicle have cruise control? Is it 4 door or 2 door model? If 4 door than brake lamp switch should only have 2 wires, white/tan and red/black.

My wiring diagram is not matching up to what you're describing. Are these wires solid colored or do they have a stripe on them? Is this a Stratus R/T?

I am sory I was trying to see what the colors were at night. The colors of the wires are green with orange stripe, solid green, yellow and light green, the brake light switch I got from an auto salvage place has 6 wires the colors are black with red stripe, white with gold stripe, white with red stripe, red with black strip, yellow with red stripe, black with green stripe. Schematic is showing only 2 wires. A green/black wire going to fuse box and a green/orange wire that splits into 3 sections, 1 for cruise control, 1 for ABS and 1 for the brake lights.

Checked it again and I see 4 wires that were cut I will try to get a picture of them tonight. One is green with orange stripe no breaking off in sections on this, one is yellow one is light green and the other is green with no stripe. I bought this car used and it came as is. I just want my brake lights to work, I really don't use cruise control. The light always stays on this so I removed the fuse

Green and black is power. It goes to pin 2 of the switch the orange and green goes to pin one of switch and runs to the computer. From there the brakes are controlled by a solid state relay inside of the ECU
