2001 Dodge Stratus AC

My 2001 Dodge Stratus air conditioning is only working the first few minutes it runs and then just the fan blows. Someone told me it could be a coil in the compressor. Is this so? Or is it more than likely an electrical problem/freon leak? I put a can of freon in it the other day and it still only worked for about half an hour.

1st step should be checking system pressure /and for leak
I would suspect low on 134A GAS
