The brake lights will not work when the headlight switch is turned on. They work fine when fuse 10 is pulled and the headlights are turned on.

The radio clock only works occasionally. When it does work the brake lights work fine. I believe the clock is on Fuse 10 which also controls the taillights.

Where do I start to find this gremlin?

This sure sounds like a grounding problem, so check for voltage drop (or rise, if you prefer) between the ground terminal of the brake light bulbs and the negative terminal of the battery. If you find a voltage difference, check for a bad ground between the battery and the body, or between the body and the light sockets, etc.

Another possibility could be the light outage module, if it has one. Check the voltages going into & coming out of that.
