1992 Dodge Shadow shifting stick

1992 Dodge Shadow 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
my shifting stick has a kinda ball joint deal for letting it shift and it popped out of the part and i cant get it back together. is it possible to fix or do i need to get a whole new set up?

Did the part come from the top of the shifter?
