I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel 5.9L automatic Trans

I recently bought a 5th Wheel Trailer app.6600lbs. empty. The truck is overheating in the mountains but also on the interstate on up hill rises, and greatly losing power at this point. The temp gauge maxs out get some relief by running the heater on high but this is not an option I want to have to use. I have been told possibly by adding an external cooling unit for the trans fluid might help. any info on this would be appreciated. BJH
