2006 Dodge Ram starting

Engine just clicks when trying to start will start sometimes and will continue to start all day then will repeat the following day

I had a jeep that was doing the same thing and when it would only click I could hit the starte with a hammer and it would start the shop that rebuilds starters told me the brushes were going out in the starter. So I replaced it and never had anymore problems
