Engine is overheating why?

Replaced thermostat water pump and the clutch fan, but my truck is still getting hot.

I called the dealer to see if there has ever been problems with this. They keep telling me no. Do you know anything about this or do you have any suggestions. This is starting to really aggravate me. Thanks

It sounds like you could have a clogged radiator, stuck thermostat, coolant leak or the radiator cooling fan is not working and there is an outside change you have a blown head gasket as well but to be sure lets run down these guides to help us pinpoint and fix the issue.

Was over heating, so flushed radiator out and put in new thermostat. Now I need to know how to relieve pressure on system?

The radiator cap has a pressure relief valve set for 15 or 16 pounds.

Radiator cap is ok. Could fan clutch be causing the overheating problem. It over heated today and shut down. If u just leave it set and idle for a couple minutes it will start to over heat. When u shut it off u can hear antifreeze bubble in tank.

Clutch is a good suspect. You should hear it make lots of noise when the engine is cold and first started. It gets quieter when it starts to engage and make the fan spin faster.

I've been hearing a water gurgling sound when accelerating from a stop. Recently I noticed a temperature rise and saw that I needed to add coolant. After driving then stopping, I noticed coolant dripping from under the radiator area. I believe it was coming from the overflow tube on the coolant reservoir. My thinking is that the thermostat may be bad, and I'm unsure of the location of it on this engine. It is the small V8. Any insight for me would be greatly appreciated.

Art, If you follow the upper radiator hose back to the engine, it will lead you to the thermostat housing. The t-stat is under the housing (2 bolts hold the housing in place). It could be the t-stat, but I would also make sure the radiator isn't leaking and not the overflow. Also, have the radiator flushed and engine block if it hasn't been done in some time. With 126K on it, things may be starting to plug.

My pick up has had problems with the heat. The heater core has been replaced the thermostat has been replaced the radiator has been replaced and the temp is still running about 30- 40 degrees F hotter than usual. Around town the temp will climb to 230 degrees F if I put the truck in neutral and rev the engine the temp will drop to 190 degrees F with in 20 seconds or so and be fine for awhile then rise again. Does this mean the water pump is gone. There are no leaks from the water pump.

It sounds like the fan clutch isn't working. The clutch is actuated by under hood temperature. Once a certain temp is reached, the clutch locks tight against the fan and spins the faster to draw air through the radiator. I would check that. One way to know if it is working is simple. WHen the truck is that hot, you should hear the fan. It sounds like a box fan and can be heard.
