Where is the EGR and can it be repaired or does it have to be replaced?

It's not a code to replace the EGR, P0406=EGR position sensor circuit high voltage. You need to test the wires in the 5 volt ref circuit between the sensor and the PCM. Do you have a scanner that can read sensor values? If yes read the EGR position sensor voltage, is it above 4.5volt or below?

I'm not sure. I borrowed a scanner from Autozone. Can it be read with a regular OBD scanner or do I have to read it off the EGR wires themselves? And thank you for your help.

Yea those Pats. All year. Then. BAM!
Some scanners can give the voltage but not many. Will most likly need to test the circuit itself, with a DVOM.
