I have an 03 dodge ram 1500 sxt. I was driving down the interstate, hit the gas, and it kind of sputtered. I pulled to the side and it shut off while in gear. Waited a little bit and i started back up and ran again but then shut off down the road like it was getting any fuel. Some said check the fuel filter and pump, what would you suggest? Thank you

I agree with them. If the check engine light didn't come on, chances are it is fuel related. Remember the fuel pump is in the fuel tank, and the fulter is part of the sending unit.

Here are directions for checking fuel pump pressure. Check it out and let me know what you find. Olease check the pressure before replacing the pump. It isn't a fun job and not one you would like to do if not necessary.

Let me know what you find.
