I OWN A 2003 DODGE RAM 1500 PICKUP TRUCK. FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS NOW IT HAS BEEN MAKING SOME TYPE OF NOISE WHICH SEEMS TO COME FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ( ENGINE AREA). I CHECKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND FOUND THE PULLEY SYSTEM TO BE RUSTY. CAN THIS BE CAUSING THE SOUNDS, OR DO I HAVE SOME KIND OF AIR LEAK AS I AM READING IN SOME OTHER FORUMS?

If you hear a squeal it could be the serpentine belt and the tensioner or idler pulleys, if you hear a hiss, that could be a vacuum leak, but you would also have a rough running engine!
