I am trying to remove the stock shocks on my truck, and I cannot get the top nut off for anything. The entire inside shaft keeps turning. I have broken the bottom 2 nuts loose (They have been retightened now). Do I need to purchase some kind of a tool to hold the inside shaft with or what? Can you please help:0)

Hi
There is a socket that fits over the top os shock shaft see the notched thingy on top. Don't know if you can get without finding a tool distributor like Snap-on, Matco, ect. Other more brutal choices chisel nut off, sawsall the shaft, try Vise grips on shaft. Air ratchet will also work most time.
Hope this helps
