2002 Dodge 105000. While I am driving the Check Engine Light comes on then I lose the throttle. I have to restart the truck for it to work again. Works fine for a while and happens again. I ran a test and it said it was the Throttle Position Sensor. I took it to the mechanic to run a diagnosis and he said the computer either needs to be reset or replaced. Any ideas what it could be or what we can do before we buy a $700.00 computer?

When that light comes on its always a big problem unless your the mechanic that fixes it for a living. It always seems to cost more than the truck is worth. My suggestion is to get a TPS sensor then reset the computer by taking the positive and neg battery cables off and touching them together for 20 seconds, put back on battery turn the key on for 30 seconds or so, turn back off for 30 seconds then start the truck. Im not sure at all if this will work, but if I were you I would give it a try. If it all fails go to a junk yard, its alot less expensive to get a pcm, make sure you get the numbers off of yours they got to match up. Happy hunting(post your progress)
